Safety Data Sheets (SDS / MSDS) are documents prepared to ensure that manufacturers, importers, and their affiliates handling chemical substances and mixtures are properly informed about the material and can ensure its safe use.

Legal Requirement

In accordance with the "Regulation on Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Substances and Mixtures", which entered into force on December 13, 2014, SDSs must be prepared in Turkish, and all previously prepared SDSs must be updated.

Who Must Have Them Prepared?

SDSs can only be prepared by certified experts accredited by TURKAK. Companies that manufacture, sell, supply, or distribute hazardous substances or mixtures are required to provide SDSs to their customers.

When is an SDS Required?

When the formulation or physical/chemical properties of a chemical change
For notifications to the Ministry of Trade
During inspections at Roadside Inspection Stations
During Occupational Health and Safety inspections
For the transportation of dangerous goods by road, air, rail, and sea
